Self-isolation, Day 14
Tea lives in a farmhouse in Quebec.
In my dream, I fall asleep and dream of looking through the windowpane at my parents’ house. The birch turns into a plum tree, suddenly heavy with fruit then besieged by big, shiny crows who peck at the fruit. And cats, jumping from the ground into the branches. Maybe insects? Frenzy. Bloody, swollen purple plums splatter to the ground. I step back. A crow, and a plum, break through the glass and land at my feet.
